WAKE COUNTY, N.C.

Veterans should be offended by Council Member Murry's distortion of service. Murry's website says "While in pharmacy school, Dr. Murry served as a First Lieutenant at Fort Carswell Air Force Base in Ft. Worth, Texas for the United States Public Health Service and worked for the Arkansas Poison Control Center."

Upon contacting Ms. Alex S. Potter from the HHS/OPHS she provided the following public record facts regarding Thomas O. Murry; "Thomas O. Murry worked from 6/1/99—7/31/99 as a COSTEP (equivalent to an Ensign) at the Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center in Ft. Worth, TX." What is a COSTEP it is Commissioned Officer Student Training Extern Program.

As a veteran I was offended to find this out and if Mr. Murry is willing to distort this information, what else is he distorting??

Hi Judi, I'm not justifying anything, I'm just saying I don't listen to anonymous attacks on someone's character... you don't know that Murry embellished anything... you don't even know who claims he did. My point was that what we do know is that Murry was a key player in stopping what would have been a crippling tax increase. Also, I'm not sure that much stock can be taken that, in the end the council, when faced with 200 angry residents and numerous negative media stories, abandoned their effort to pass the largest tax increase in the county.

I served in the military also, 2 years active duty and 3 and half years in the reserves......that doesn't necessarily qualify me for the Morrisville Town Council. What you do or don't do for your town is what counts on election day. Vote Tom Murry for Morrisville Town Council. Steve

You can thank the Town Council for voting against the tax increase. How can you justify embellishing military service and think it's okay just because the Council agreed to more public hearings? Your priorities are strange.

Are you truly a veteran yourself? The veterans I know would never slander someone anonymously. Smells like just more of the dirty tricks common in the old guard politics of Morrisville, which hopefully is about to change. If it was not for Murry, there would not have been the call for additional public comment and hearing, and we would all be paying the highest property taxes in Wake county.

If you don't like what Murry stands for - low taxes and neighborhood schools - vote for somebody else. You've got 2 other choices and one vote. Exercise your right with it.
